Smoking Haiku
#1
Open cigarette
boxes discarded on streets —
conversation smokes.
#2
We have drinks in hand.
Bored party goers flood streets,
gutter fills with butts.
#3
Jogging a full hour,
lungs clear and air flowing free,
I crave a Camel.
#4
I know I should quit.
Once I have kids it’s over.
For now, porch is mine.
#5
Friends like to blame me
for social smoke indulgence;
I make it look good.
