Geary & Jones, Monday, 8:23 a.m.

City morning
hair all messed up
new coffee paints my tongue
in seeping thru the line between
imagining and the cream brick cube
you live in,

building I forgot to shave in,
used your hopeless hairbrush in,
didn’t kiss you good-bye in,
but didn’t leave you
either.
