Length and Quality
If your piece is rather conventional satire or parody, it may possibly fit better in the "Essays" category. Material submitted for the "Comedy" section can be from 500 to 2500 words in length but the moocat heavily favours those no longer than about 1000 words. If your piece is longer than 1000 words, please include the word count in your submission (it helps me with doing the layout).

Clichés are small ducklings in fervent need of petting. So please pet them, but gently my friend, gently.

I'm interested in publishing comic material on many themes, with the goal of taking the reader on a pleasant and unusual little mind-ride. I'm not interested in anything vituperative, mean-spirited, or really low-brow. The moocat is a gentle cat.

Original works only. I'm willing to consider simultaneous submissions, but please check the simultaneous submission checkbox in your submission form. Only works sent in via the online submission form will be considered.

Copyright Considerations
Contributors retain copyright over their works after publication. The only form of payment I can afford is the knowledge that at least in my opinion your work is good enough to be here and that occasionally web surfers will read your work.

Other Stuff
I will only post material sent from contributors with a working e-mail address. If you have a compelling reason to not post a link to your e-mail address, please let me know, and I'll consider it. Submission to moocat.net is tantamount to permission to web-publish your material as submitted and to link to your email address.

If your work is selected, you'll be asked to provide a brief (30-40 word) bio, and you will be provided with a cyber-"blueline" for a quick sanity-check before final publication.
