Poetry Submission Guidelines

Length and Quality
Poems should be from 2 to 1000 words in length but heavily favouring the lower end of that range.

The moocat does not distinguish between 'good' and 'bad' words; only between good and bad poems.

Clichés are inherently evil and must be destroyed. So please don't use them, unless you're doing it intentionally to somehow comment on the cliché itself.

I'm open to publishing poems on just about any theme, so long as the poem says something interesting in a new way—surprise me! I'm not especially interested in pornography for porn's sake or religious fervor for religious fervor's sake. Oh, and please — NO (more) SUICIDE NOTES disguised as poems!

Original works only. I'm willing to consider simultaneous submissions, but please check the simultaneous submission checkbox in your submission form. Only works sent in via the online submission form will be considered.

Copyright Considerations
Contributors retain copyright over their works after publication. The only form of payment I can afford is the knowledge that your poem is good enough to be here and that occasionally web surfers will read your work.

Other Stuff
I will only post material sent from contributors with a working e-mail address. If you have a compelling reason to not post a link to your e-mail address, please let me know, and I'll consider it. Submission to moocat.net is tantamount to permission to web-publish your material as submitted and to link to your email address.

Guidelines for Other Categories

I have read these guidelines and agree to abide by them.
