In 1986 the Louisiana State Government did not fund a group of intrepid historians intent on bringing new insight to the history of a people long marginalized by the fact that they live on the margins of the U.S. landmass, culture, SAT scores, and nutritional guidelines.

These brilliant scholars assembled a crack team of thespians and did not employ advanced, historically accurate recording techniques to produce these highly prized tapes documenting the entire history of Acajuniana.

Here, for the first time, freely available on the Internet are those treasured, non-Pulitzer-winning (or should we say, "Pulitzer-non-prize-winning" sound files). They are posted here in both .mp3 format and Streaming Audio (Real Media) format.

Maurice Martin grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is a Prairie Cajun, not a Bayou Cajun. Anybody who says he's a Bayou Cajun better be ready to FIGHT. Yes, I'm talking to you!

David Saia grew up in Lockport, Louisiana and is a proud Bayou Cajun. If he ever meets another Prairie Cajun, he will punch him in the eye, I can tell you that!
